An excerpt from a recent Most Integrated Setting Coordinating Council (MISCC) meeting where CHInyc's Co-Director Carrie Peterson proposes a new residential model for people with I/DD and more significant support needs. Called an Inclusion Micro Community or IMC, this model will combine residents who have no supportive care needs with people who have disabilities, supporting both autonomy and community and will rely on the use of Self Direction funding.

The rot is at the top. A whistleblower who captured the incident at a well respected facility in Upstate New York was subsequently fired by the facility. The whistleblower, who is in the US on a work visa, risked their livelihood to expose this abuse.
